Empowerment and EnrichmentIt has always been an issue of great concern to the poor masses in the local government area of Aniocha South in Delta State on how politicians will continue to enrich themselves as against the ideas ofthe Federal Government when it come s to programs that are meant to empower the populace. SURE-P asit were was designed to help alleviate the downtrodden as the funds were supposed to be usedto help the rural people but in the case of Aniocha South, it is a program for the rich politicians. Who can believe that the care taker committee Chairman and the members (Councillors) bought Tricycle and shared it among themselves and their so called leader and an additional N200,000 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira cash) was also given to them at the detriment of the council staff who are been owned for three months without salary.The question now is this: can this be called Empowerment or Enrichment?
